The call of the loons on the lake – the sound of waves hitting the shore-
early morning fishermen going out into the misty water.

All this will be part of your vacation at Bear Spring Camps. Spend your day fishing, skiing, and swimming on our beautiful Great Pond, the largest of the Belgrade Lakes. Enjoy hiking, sightseeing in the local mountains or just sit on your front porch enjoying the scenery surrounding your camp that sits right by the water. Come enjoy our camp which is special to so many, a place where friendships span generations, memories last forever, and yet time seems to stand still.

2021 Covid Update

As we start to navigate this new year there are many considerations for us all. Mostly, how can we provide our guests with a memorable and safe experience? We know that the situation is changing daily, but we are dedicated to working on a plan that will make your Maine vacation as normal as possible  under the current situation.

Assuming that the governor will allow us to open on time, we will commence this season on Saturday, May 22 and end it on Monday, September 20. We plan to serve meals again, however will limit them to two per day in an effort to space out seating and allow for adequate clean up time. Breakfast will be extended to run from 7:30 to 10:00 daily. There will be no noon meal. The evening meal will run from 5:00 to 7:00. The menu in the evening will incorporate some of our more popular noon and evening meals and there will always be choices. Last season, we had so many comments regarding the noon meal not being missed that it seemed obvious that would be the one to cut. There are also many easy options locally for the noon snack. For those not wanting to come to the dining room, there will be take out available. In order to deal with the expected increase in take out, this will be preordered and picked up at the beginning or end of the meal. We will create a way to view the menu on your phone so you may send an order to the office.

We really do not know how this season will play out, but we are committed to providing you and your family with a safe and relaxing Maine vacation. If changes need to be made as time goes on, we will adapt our plans accordingly.

Hope this finds everyone happy, healthy and looking forward to a more normal year.
